My guide, Kelly, was excellent. Very knowledgeable, friendly, always attentive to any needs and accommodate changes to the trip part way through. The itinerary included gorilla trekking, chimpanzee tracking, Lake Bunyonyi, Murchison Falls, the national parks - all of which were amazing. To see all this you cover long distances so you get a great overview of the country with changes in scenery, towns, agriculture and economic conditions. Early pick up, smooth transfer, and we even managed to find a shoebill almost right after we changed to a smaller boat! The team are the friendliest people I’ve ever met and you can see that they really enjoyed their jobs and we had a great time together. From a photography standpoint, it’s the best place in Africa to photograph this rare bird. The canoe brings you to water level, with clean backgrounds and soft light — a perfect setup. Being big cat lovers, we were delighted to see several leopards, lions and lionesses, as well as a serval. Witnessing a hunt of lionesses and their cubs, and then spending the night there, was unforgettable. We saw a multitude of buffaloes in Kidepo. During the safaris, we were able to observe hyenas, elephants, giraffes, hippos, crocodiles, mongooses and several types of antelope. We did three night safaris, all of which were of high quality. The most extraordinary moment was spending an hour in the company of the gorillas, which we observed very closely. The accommodations were of good quality with a special mention to APOKA LODGE which is extraordinary with Patrick the guide who allowed us to see our first leopard. We also appreciated IKOROM SAFARI LODGE with its very friendly staff. The game drives with the rangers and local guides were great. Our Guide was John and we really couldn't have wished for a better guide. The tour started with a nice welcome at the airport in entebbe, where we already got a welcome-package. After we travelled with John for 10 day through whole Uganda, where we made all the stops from the program but also some additional stops which he adapted to our wishes. John really always tried to fullfil our wishes and always went the extra mile. On the same time he was a very responsible driver and we felt safe during all the journeys. Nice is also that he had his training in the Queen Elizabeth NP so he knew his way around there very well and we spotted all the animals that we wished for. At one point our car was leaking oil and we had to bring it to the garage. However that was no problem at all, as John organised within 20 Minutes already an alternative driver so we could do our program on time and after he picked us up with the repaired car. So we really can say that John was great and the whole trip is a great experience. Also if you already visited other places in africa like us, we felt that Uganda is a very nice country and worth the trip. From start to finish, Godwin went above and beyond to make our adventure not just spectacular, but truly unforgettable. Godwin was the perfect tour guide. He struck the perfect balance between keeping us informed and giving us space to enjoy our romantic safari holiday. He always ensured we knew the plan for the day while also respecting our need for quiet moments together to soak in Uganda’s stunning landscapes and incredible wildlife. But it was his personal touches that really set him apart. When we encountered issues with customs trying to get our drone in and out of Rwanda, Godwin stepped in and handled the situation with such professionalism and care, saving us a ton of stress. He even went out of his way to stop and pick up a bottle of the local hot sauce we fell in love with in Rwanda and made sure we had the chance to try local Ugandan banana spirit. These thoughtful gestures made us feel so valued as travelers and as people. Despite spending Christmas away from his own family, Godwin gave his all to make us feel like the most important people in the world. His dedication, professionalism, and warm personality made our trip feel not just like a tour, but like an adventure shared with a trusted friend. We can’t recommend Godwin and Beautiful Safari's Uganda highly enough. Our time with him left us completely in love with Uganda, and we can’t wait to return. He did everything so that we could go home with the best holiday in our memories, and even though we usually say that we should not visit the same place twice because there is so much in the world we want to see, we simply have to go back to Uganda to our fantastic guide Ricky Sharif!
