Located at the apex of the beautiful Congo-Nile range in between 1550 and 2660 m of altitude, the second largest wildlife reserve for apes viewing in Kibira National park covering an area of 40,000 hectares of conserved woodland and is the biggest unspoiled natural locality within Burundi. The park has wealthy abundance of wildlife like chimpanzees, white & black colobus, baboons plus many others. There are close to 98 mammal species, 644 plant plus flower species and over 200 bird species found in here. The 3 Days Kibira National Chimpanzee Tour takes you to the prominent Kibira National park in Burundi where you will track these rare species of Chimpanzee in their natural habitat.
Day 1: Arrival Bujumbura City Tour
On arrival, you will be warmly received by our guide who will drive you to the hotel. Tour Bujumbura for half of the day, visit the cultural and snake museum, and tour the memorial, the city hall, Lake Tanganyika which is the most prominent attraction in the area, the Islam Culture Centre and the President’s Office.
Day 2: Nature Walk & Chimpanzee Tracking-Kibira National park
Visit the Kibira Forest National Park and enjoy a nature walk in the company of a guide. If time allows, visit the Memorial of the Explorers which is a massive rock in the outskirts of Bujumbura that commemorates the conference of Hanington with John Speke in 1871 who both where explorers.
Day 3: Departure
Today you will be escorted by our guide back to Bujumbura for your flight back home.
