Rwanda, officially got independent in July in 1962 Rwanda formally got its independence from United Nations under trusteeship of Belgian administration, got independence with Gregory Kayibanda leader of Parti du Movement de emancipation du Peuple Hutu (PARMEHUTU).

Rwanda is located in the East Central of Africa between latitudes 10 and 30 south and long 310 east, bordering Uganda, Burundi, Congo and west of Zaire.

Rwanda is a land locked country lying on the South of the Equator in East Central Africa, Rwanda is commonly known as les pays des mille collines in French meaning the land of thousand hills and its capital city is called Kigali located in the center of the country on the Ruganwa river, currently headed by president His Excellency Paul Kagame and assisted by the Prime Minister Dr. Edouard Ngirente, the country population is (2023) Est 14,482000 with two forms of Government , Multiparty Republic with two leglasive houses, Senate (26) chamber of deputies (80) with official languages ,  French,  Swahili and English. It has no official Religion since its back ground in belief was based on African beliefs and has total area of sq km (26,338), total area sq miles (10,169) and as a country is using monetary unit as Rwandan Francs (RF), Rwanda’s urban population goes to 35% as rural population hits 65% with life expectancy of Male to 65 years and 70 years to Female.

  GENOCIDE IN RWANDA

The Rwandan genocide happened in between 7^th April and 15^th July 1994 during the civil war, in a period of 100 days members of the minority group Tutsi were killed by the Hutu Militia who were heavily armed with different dangerous weapons of destruction. It was during the colonial rule that Rwandan ethnic groups; Hutu and the Tutsi became racialized, it was the rigidification between the two identities and their relationship with the political power that would lay the foundation of the genocide violence throught the colonial era the Minority Tutsi were 14% were favored over by the Hutu 85%.

  WHAT CAUSED GENOCIDE IN RWANDA

The Rwandan genocide sparked off in 1994, when the Rwandan president His Excellency Juvenal Habyarimana was killed in an Aero plane which was from Arusha with his counterpart of Burundi His Excellency Cyprien Ntaryamira, this happened in presidential home in Rwanda capital Kigali by unknown missile resulting the National Radio by that time called Radio Rwanda to announce the shocking news to the people of Rwanda.

After the breaking news of shooting the presidential jet, the Hutu top officials in the government together with presidential guards started a serious hunt down of any Tutsi who was close and neighboring taking as a revenge turn.

During the Belgian colonial rule, the minority tribe of the Tutsi were much favored compared to majority ethnic group of the Hutu, Tutsi were given good western education, good white color jobs and other privileges that made Hutu think were over undermined.

During President Habyarimana time there was much segregation in the government and when Rwanda gained independence the Tutu people did not want any Tutsi to have any fat share in the government this led to assassination of the president leaving thousands of Tutsi people destructed, homeless, suffering and lifeless as were traced by their identity cards known as in Kinyarwanda as (Ikarita y’igihugu)

Main cause was between the two Rwandan tribes the Hutu and the Tutsi ,the Rwandese patriotic front started a civil war taking advantage of the country state at that time as the Armies and presidential guard were killing number of people .This were group of Refugees that fled into the country after the president was announced dead at the time, Hutu mission was to wipe every living Tutsi in name of revenge, Before killing of the president the Rwanda Hutu Army had fought with the Ugandan based Tutsi rebels in early 1990-1993 .
