DAY 1: ENTEBBE

Arrival at Entebbe International Airport, meet your local guide and transfer to your hotel in Either Entebbe or Kampala. Depending on your time of arrival, optional birding orientation at Botanical gardens. There are several beautiful bird species here if you are a keen birder. Monkeys and other wildlife are a common sight as well. Not forgetting the cool breeze from Lake Victoria.  Dinner and Overnight Airport View guest House (D)

DAY 2: ENTEBBE- MABAMBA SWAMP- MURCHISON FALLS NATIONAL PARK

An early cup of tea/coffee with packed breakfast we hit Mabamba Swamp to track the Shoebills.

Mabamba swamp is an important bird area and a major   natural wetland birding site well-known for the elusive Shoebill one of Uganda’s most sought after bird by most birders and nature lovers.

The wetland is a home to several bird  like; the African purple swamp hen, African water rail, Swamp flycatcher, Papyrus Gonolek, White-winged Warbler, the Blue Swallow Common moorhen, lesser jacana, African jacana, African pygym goose, White-faced whistling duck, Squacco heron, Blue Breasted Bee-eater, Winding cisticola, Goliath Heron among others.

We proceed to Murchison Falls, Uganda’s most beautiful protected Park. Rhino tracking at Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary in Masindi, lunch and proceed to Murchison Falls N.P. We will pass via top of the falls for a scenic view of the falls from above if time allows. Dinner and overnight At Pakuba Safari Lodge (B-L-D)

DAY 3: MURCHISON FALLS NATIONAL PARK

After a rather early breakfast, we go for a morning game drive. Notable on the game drive are elephants, giraffes, lions, hartebeests and many more. There are several bird species too here. Return to the lodge later, relax and chat the mid-morning away. After lunch launch cruise on the Nile. There are several hippos and crocodiles among other game. On a lucky day you might see the Shoebill/s from which our company derives its name.

DAY 4: MURCHISON FALLS NATIONAL PARK – KIBALE FOREST NATIONAL PARK

We depart From Murchison Falls to the otherwise known as the Primate Capital of the World and head towards Fort Portal with lunch en route. Various stopovers to see the beautiful landscapes. Optional visit to one of the local homes to equip yourself with the day today life of the local people here and also to support the community. Dinner and overnight at Chimpanzee Forest Lodge (B-L-D)

DAY 5: KIBALE FOREST NATIONAL PARK

Morning walk to the chimpanzees.  Kibale Forest has got the highest concentration of primate’s world over, a reason it’s known as the primate capital of the world. Kibale Forest is not only known for the chimps but other wildlife such as forest elephants and different species of monkeys. Its’ also a home to several forest birds species among others. Afternoon community walk to the tea estates or just relax, unwind to the sounds of this forests.

DAY 6: KIBALE FOREST – QUEEN ELIZABETH NATIONAL PARK

After breakfast transfer to Queen Elizabeth national Park. The land scape along the route is breath taking. It’s characterized by crater lakes, small lakes and rolling hills. On a clear day you will see the snow-capped Mt. Rwenzori National Park. Continue to Queen Elizabeth National Park. Possible evening game drive or relax and explore this beautiful lodge.

DAY 7: QUEEN ELIZABETH NATIONAL PARK

A rather early cup of tea or coffee, with our packed breakfast we head to the Uganda Kobs mating ground. Look out for lions, elephants, buffaloes and other wild animals in their natural habitat. Afternoon boat cruise along Kazinga Channel, a natural channel that connects Lake Edward and Lake George. There is vibrant wildlife species here like elephants, buffaloes, crocodiles and hundreds of hippos that are cooling off the afternoon heat at the channel shores.

DAY 8: QUEEN ELIZABETH NATIONAL PARK – BWINDI IMPENETRABLE FOREST N.P

After breakfast, morning game drive through Ishasha sector area for chances of tree climbing lions and other game. Picnic lunch and proceed to Bwindi, a home to the endangered Mountain gorillas arriving in the afternoon. Dinner and overnight at Ride for a woman Lodge (B-L-D)

DAY 9: BWIND IMPENETRABLE FOREST NATIONAL PARK

The highlight and probably the most memorable moment of your safari is meeting the gentle forest giants of Bwindi, the mountain gorillas! Expect to walk a long distance in steep and muddy conditions and occasional rain overhead before you encounter gorillas. However the walk is worthwhile as you watch the family eat, play and rest typical of any kind of a family. The dominant Male aka Silverback will constantly remind the babies to behave as they toss about. Evening community walk, there are several craft shops where you can get authentic souvenirs.

DAY 10: BWIND IMPENETRABLE FOREST NATIONAL PARK LAKE BUNYONYI

After breakfast we depart to Lake Bunyonyi, the deepest lake in Africa. Relax the evening away or go for a canoe trip and enjoy the beautiful sunset.  Lake Bunyonyi is an exclusive private place ideal for honey mooners. Dinner and overnight at Birds nest Resort Lodge (B-L-D)

DAY 11:    LAKE BUNYONYI

Whole day free relaxing and resting from the challenging hike in Bwindi. Optional hikes to the Batwa community or nearby schools, swimming or canoeing.

DAY 12:  LAKE BUNYONYI – LAKE MBURO NATIONAL PARK

Depart for Lake Mburo National Park after breakfast. Stop over for lunch In Mbarara or Igongo cultural centre. Proceed to Lake Mburo arriving in the afternoon. Possible evening boat trip along Lake Mburo from which the Park derives its name. Dinner at overnight Rwakobo Rock Lodge B/L/D

 

DAY 13:   LAKE MBURO NATIONAL PARK

Early morning unlimited game drive in search of animals, afternoon game walk with the rangers for more animals. Lake Mburo National Park got its name from the famous Lake Mburo, It’s a home to 350 bird species as well as zebras, impalas, elands, buffalos, oribi, Defassa waterbuck, leopard, hippo, hyena, topi, reed buck among other species. It is one special Park where the local community co exists with wildlife peacefully.

DAY 14: LAKE MBURO NATIONAL PARK – ENTEBBE

After breakfast begin the journey back to Kampala. Picnic lunch at the Equator. Several craft shops here also make souvenir shopping much easy and fun.

Enjoy the experience of a life time at the Equator. Take a moment and stand at both the Southern and Northern hemispheres.  Dinner and overnight at Airport View guest House. B/L/D

DAY 15 ENTEBBE- DEPARTURE

Depending on your flight time we can either do Mabamba Swamp as indicated on day 2 or do it on this last day in the morning. Then departure back home
