ITINERARY

8 days Classic Uganda tour

Day 1: Arrival in Entebbe.
Upon arrival at Entebbe International Airport, you will be met by your guide who will transfer you to your hotel. Spend the rest of the day relaxing and preparing for your birding adventure.
Overnight and Dinner at: – The Boma.
Day 2: transfer murchison falls en-route visit ziwa
Murchison Falls NP is the largest national park in Uganda covering an area of 4,300km2 named after the dramatic Murchison Falls. It is located 305km north of Kampala. Its falls are where the Victoria Nile forces its way through a narrow gorge. It is home to primates like the baboons, monkeys, 450 bird species of which 23 are endemic to the Albertine rift like the rare shoebill stork, 76 mammal species like bush bucks, Uganda kobs, Water bucks, Warthogs, Giraffes, Hyenas, Hippos, crocodiles that are found along the shores of the Nile River and many others.

En route we shall visit the Rhino Sanctuary and enjoy an open view off these mammals. Another activity we shall partake will be the hike to the top of the falls. Quite an exhilarating experience

Day 3 Game drive in Murchison Falls
This is an activity where you drive in your safari vehicle following the park tracks so as to sight different species of wildlife. We shall do 2 game drives one in the morning that lasts about 2hrs and follow up with an afternoon one in a different sector and takes about an hour. You will have the chance to spots animals like the African Elephant, Buffaloes, Giraffes, Waterbucks, Warthogs among others and bird species like the Saddle-billed stork, Majestic grey crowned crane, handsome black-headed spur winged lapwings and many more. Retire to your lodge and unwind the day’s activities.

Day 4 Transfer to Kibale Forest NP.

Today you shall go for the chimpanzee tracking adventure in Kibale National Park. With a chimpanzee population of about 1,500 chimps, which is the highest of any park in Uganda, Kibale National Park is the number one destination for chimpanzee trekking in Uganda. After briefing by the park guides at about 7.30am you shall go into the forest to track a community of of habituated chimps.
After you have returned from the chimpanzee trekking in Kibale National Park you shall have lunch and later may continue with birding in Kibale forest or Bigodi Swamp.

Day 5:Transfer to Queen Elizabeth NP.

Today, we head to Queen Elizabeth National Park, a birder’s paradise with over 600 species recorded. There are also other activities that will make your wildlife viewing basket very flashy. Take a game drive in the Kasenyi area searching for the big five animals. (Lion, Leopard, Rhino, Elephant and African Buffalo) The term “Big Five” originally referred to the difficulty in hunting, these five large African mammal species were known to be dangerous and it was considered a feat by trophy hunters to bring them home.

Day 6 Transfer to Bwindi National Park

After breakfast, enjoy an experience that takes you through the life of the Lion (Off tack journey). A launch/boat Cruise o The Kazinga Channel is also part of our activity that we shall have.
We then transfer to Bwindi National Park while birding along the way. You shall drive through the Ishasha plains which is famous for the tree-climbing lions.

Look out for savannah specialists such as Abyssinian Ground Hornbill, Red-throated Bee-Eater, and Denham’s Bustard plus most of the water birds along the Kazinga Channel. We

Day 7 Gorilla tracking in Bwindi Impenetrable NP
Today you shall go for the gorilla tracking in Bwindi National Park, Ruhiija Area. You will transfer to the park office at 7am to meet the park guides for briefing and allocation of the gorilla groups before setting off into the jungle to search for the gorillas. The gorillas are endemic to the Albertine rift and close to half of their population is in Bwindi National Park.

After your Gorilla experience we then move on to Lake Bunyonyi area, (the home of 1,000 birds). Relax and unwind your experiences whole listening t the tunes of most birds that you have never seen.

Day 8 Transfer to Entebbe and Flight out.

Drive all the way from Kabale through Mbarara, Masaka via the souvenir town of Kayabwe. (Buy all the best crafts here and enjoy the Southern and Northern hemisphere at this point-The Equator.)
